My second collection for the 15th Annual AATS Fashion Exposé, designed & sewn by me. A collection inspired by my uber feminine & fabulous Nana. I wanted to create modernized versions of garments she might've worn when she was around my age back in the 60s. All prints on the garments [striped & abstract] were hand painted by me. They aren't for sale, but one day I'll get these designs manufactured for the masses! Enjoy:)
Shot & edited by Jon Millner.
The Making of...
Crappy, rushed sketches. Bare with me. I have ideas on top of ideas. When it comes to sketching them down, I'm capable of much better. I become somewhat of a perfectionist when I really try to do them correctly. One day I'll have all the time in the world to do things the way I want them to be done!
This one looks like it's only blue stripes. There's actually green stripes & gold dots as well in between.
This whole dress was rushed, but it's one of my favs. There's blue & green abstract painting all over it.
Green & lavender abstract painting on the bodice, lavender stripes on the waistband.
Alllll free-handed painting
The amount of time + effort I put into this collection...
Forget the monetary award I received for 1st place, seeing my Nana literally about to implode with happiness made it beyond worth it.
Thoughts and ideas and inspiration and notes and reminders and tiny little details that made all the difference.
Finding my passion has been...a journey. Finding myself as a designer is a process, but I am sooo looking forward to all that I may become.
Thanks for the continued support!
