Michelle Obama in Alexander McQueen

Our fabulous First Lady attended last night's state dinner [honoring Chinese President Hu Jintao] donning a silk organza gown from the Resort 2011 collection. I love how she always manages to look glamourous and elegant at every major event. If I was a former First Lady I'd be so jealous! And as for the future ones, they have big shoes to fill.
Let's recap on a couple of her previous looks...

Remember the custom-made gown [by Indian-American designer Naeem Khan] she wore to the state dinner welcoming Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh? The gown that featured hand-cut sterling sliver sequins sewn on nude silk chiffon, entirely handmade, and required 3 weeks of work by 40 people? She looked amazing.

I feel like her popularly noted one-shoulder Inauguration gown by Jason Wu foreshadowed her future status as a fashion icon. I look forward to seeing more perfect dress selections soon!
