What I Wore 12312011

Oh. Hello 2012.

I trust that all of my readers had a fun & safe NYE, as I had at my church! 2011 brought me plenty of blessings, opportunities, and accomplishments, but I truly believe 2012 will be a year of even bigger moves.
I'm almost halfway through with my collection for the AATS Fashion Exposé on April 10th [which I hope most of you'll be able to attend!] and it's coming along fabulously. I'll be in the intermediate category this time--tougher competition! Save the date & show your support;)

Multi-colored Matte Sequin Top: Urban Outfitters [I love matte sequins!]
High-Waisted Wide-Legged Jeans: Topshop
Leather Hooded Bomber: Ebay
Oversized Geometric Earrings: My Nana's vintage costume jewelery
3-Toned Open-Toed platforms: Steve Madden [from T.J. Maxx]

What I Wore 12252011

I had a wedding to attend & the dress I ordered for my internship allowance was kind of formal so I decided to wear it today. It's a black one shoulder frock with a lace underlay and tulle. Lots of compliments on this one!
Accessories: Vintage earrings
                                         M.A.C. Russian Red lipstick
                                         Nude Urban Outfitters clutch
                                                Black Topshop Open-toed pumps

Hope you guys had a fab Christmas!

OMG..Burberry Prorsum S/S 2012

Where have I beennnnnnn???? And whyyyy didn't I catch this show back in September?? I honestly don't think I've ever loved a collection this much! I'm speechless and I literally LOVED every look. The textures, prints, and color palette captivated me in such a way that I couldn't help but wish to be wealthy so I could buy all of it! Every parka, skirt, dress, shoe....all of it. So inspiring! Standing ovation to designer Christopher Bailey!

Versace x H&M

Donatella Versace finally premiered her collection for H&M on the runway! Some say it's absurd, some think it's fabulous, but what do you think? Will you be looking to purchase any of the pieces when they hit 300 stores [& online] worldwide on November 17th? Or will you pass?

Prices start at $29.95 and go up to $399, by the way.

Donatella boo, exactly how much work did you have done on your face? o__0

Party--Bey ft. J.Cole

Love the video, love the fun clothes, love the song! And I spy eyewear designers, Coco & Breezy! Remember when I did an interview post on them last year? From the looks of it, they've already had great success and I also heard their NY Fashion Week show was amazing. Hopefully I can get a follow up interview from them soon, but for now you can click here to see my previous posts on them!

Kanye West's Dw Collection

Soooo if I didn't do a review on any other Spring '12 Fashion Week collection, I knew I HAD to do one on Kanye's. I've been anxious & excited to see what the rapper-turned-designer had in store for us, especially after hearing rumors stating that his show would include Maybachs and a collab with Giuseppe Zanotti. He veered away from the typical urban menswear that the world might've expected him to produce and came up with a super chic & sexy womenswear line entitled Dw. Dw is a tribute to his late mother, Donda West, who passed back in '07.
Before heading to Paris, 'Ye reportedly dropped nearly $22,000 on fabric and zippers at a store in London. I honestly feel like Kanye is one of the few artists that could transfer over to the fashion design realm successfully for the long-term because he clearly has deeper understanding of art in general. He & Gwen Stefani [of whom I'm also a fan when it comes to fashion design] are the only two musical artists I can think of that have that special talent. Thank-you, Kanye, for stepping out of the mold [Roca Wear/Sean John/Apple Bottoms/etc.] and proving that rappers can give us more than basic street wear!

Fav!

A little snippet of the final walk, courtesy of fashionbombdaily.com

They each have on a gold nameplate chains that say "Yeezi"....interesting. A bit Fall-ish on a lot of pieces [this collection is supposed to be for next Spring], but I overall liked the line. To have his premiere collection shown at Paris Fashion Week.....that's huge! I feel like he put Chanel Iman in a couple of the best looks on purpose, too!
Thoughts?
